Our Story
From the 1990's to today and beyond
1990s
In 1990, a Cuban baseball enthusiast founded Glomar in Fullerton, CA. Transitioning from his previous role as a player agent, Mario leveraged his player network despite one significant challenge - he had no woodworking experience. With determination, he refined his technique and mastered his craft. Before long, Glomar bats were gracing the hands of Major League Players and became the first small company to have its bats gain MLB certification. Glomar became emblematic of master craftsmanship with baseball legends like Manny Ramirez, Vlad Guerrero Sr., and Chipper Jones among its users.
Following a hiatus, Mario has now passed the Glomar baton, but remains an enthusiastic advisor to our new team. His story is the stuff of legends in the baseball community and we are so honored to share this journey and to carry on his legacy.
Now & Beyond
Glomar is in great hands at its new home in Los Alamitos, CA. Under the direction of three brothers, Glomar remains a small business with the same personal dedication to quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.

While the technology has advanced from the days of the early 90's, each bat still owes its origins to Mario. Our models are still individually made and hand finished. One of one.
The new team aspires to honor Glomar's legacy while building something even better. We look forward to introducing the younger generations to the strength and beauty of custom-made wood bats and forging career-long relationships with up and coming players. From the classics to the colorful in different models and sizes, Glomar now offers an even broader range of customization options with a shorter delivery time.
